LIP BLUSH

PRECARE

  • Avoid Blood Thinners: Do not take blood-thinning medications such as aspirin, ibuprofen, or
fish oil supplements for at least 48 hours before the procedure. This helps minimize bleeding and bruising.

  • Hydrate Lips: Keep your lips well-moisturized leading up to the appointment. Use a lip balm or ointment to prevent dryness or chapping.

  • No Alcohol or Caffeine: Avoid alcohol and caffeine for at least 24 hours before the procedure, as they can increase sensitivity and bleeding.

  • Cold Sores/Herpes: If you’re prone to cold sores, take an antiviral medication (like Valtrex) for
2-3 days before and after your appointment to prevent an outbreak. Consult with your doctor beforehand.

  • Exfoliate: Gently exfoliate your lips 24 hours before the procedure using a lip scrub or a soft toothbrush to remove dead skin cells and smooth the surface.

  • No Lip Injections: If you’ve had lip fillers, wait at least 6 weeks before getting a lip blush procedure to ensure the filler has settled.

  • Avoid Sun Exposure: Protect your lips from direct sun exposure and avoid tanning beds for at least a week before the procedure.

  • Do Not Wax or Thread: Avoid waxing, threading, or any hair removal around the lip area for at least a week before the procedure.

  • Avoid Retinol/Acids: Stop using any retinol, glycolic acid, or other strong skincare products on your lips for at least a week before the procedure.

  • Health Considerations: Make sure to disclose any medical conditions, allergies, or
medications you are taking to your technician before the appointment.

    AFTERCARE

  • Day 1: (Day of the procedure) It is very important to remove the lymph from the surface of the skin in order to avoid heavy
scabbing. Right after the procedure clean the lips with damp cotton (clean bottled water) every 30 min until bedtime. Before sleep, if the lips still got some dry lymph then wash with lukewarm water gently removing the dry lymph, pat dry and apply Balm or any Healing Ointment (you canfind it in any grocery store, kids section). Sometimes the lips can bruise even after the procedure, do not worry, the bruising will go away within a couple of hours after the procedure.

  • Day 2: The lips may be swollen the second day as well. Please do not apply ice on the lip’s skin
-Keep the skin moist at all times, do not let the lips be dry.

  • Day 3 - 7: Keep applying the Ointment as needed, means as soon as the lips start feeling dry apply the Balm.
During Day 1 to Day 7 or even longer (until the scabs are gone)
AVOID water (for the PMU area), makeup, excessive sweating, no sauna, no pools, no sunbathing, do not PEEL the scabs at all (you may cause scarring otherwise)
Do not apply anything besides Balm ointment such as vaseline, antibiotic creams, Neosporin
etc. Grapeseed oil may be used to substitute Balm or Aquaphor.

  • During 4 weeks after the procedure, it is best to not use creams that contain acids or
ingredients that will lighten or exfoliate the skin.
(The touch up is best to be done 8 weeks later and allow extra time for clients that heal longer,
also give extra healing time for mature clients as well.)

EYELINER

AFTERCARE

  • Day 1: (Day of the procedure) Do not touch the eyes. Before bed, you can ice the eyes by applying it over a clean cloth.
Do not apply ice directly to the skin.
Do not wash the eyes, try to keep them dry
If the eyes are swollen, you may take an anti-inflammatory.

  • Day 2: The eyes may be swollen the next day after the procedure; it is a normal reaction, some clients
swell more than others. The swelling should start going down during this day and the eyes
should be looking better by the end of the second day. If during the second day you feel that
your skin is getting dry and you experience a skin-squeezing sensation, that is a sign the skin
becomes dehydrated and you need to apply an ointment such as Aquaphor (you can find it in
many grocery stores in the kid’s section).

  • Day 3-10: By day # 3 the skin usually feels pretty dry, you have to apply a very thin layer of Aquaphor Healing Ointment, but do not apply too much, because the ointment will most likely cause the skin to not breathe and may cause irritation and dermatitis.
If any adverse reactions occur, stop applying the ointment and reach out to your artist and/or your doctor. Keep the area dry and keep applying the ointment as needed, means when you feel the skin is dry apply a thin layer; if the skin is not dry, do not apply.
Hydrate the skin until all the scabs are completely exfoliated, but it's
best to still hydrate for at least 2 weeks, which will allow the skin to regenerate faster.
Wash your hands before applying the ointment.

  • During Day 1 to Day 7 or even longer (until the scabs are gone) AVOID water (for the PMU
area), makeup, excessive sweating, no sauna, no pools, no sunbathing, do not PULL the scabs at all (you may cause scarring otherwise)
Do not apply anything besides Aquaphor ointment such as vaseline, antibiotic cream,
Neosporin, etc. Grapeseed oil may be used to substitute Aquaphor.

  • During 4 weeks after the procedure is best to not use creams that contain acids or ingredients that will lighten or exfoliate the skin.
(The touch up is best to be done 6 weeks later and allow extra time for clients that heal longer,
also give extra healing time for mature clients as well.)
